ProjectSPIDER

ProjectSPIDER is a grades 7-9 Distributed Learning initiative within School District 46.  It offers a flexible range of learning opportunities to middle-year adolescents and their families.  It should appeal to motivated, supported learners, drawn to engage with their peers and the broader community in cross curricular projects. This is an evolution of the District’s well-established SPIDER Elementary program (Students Participating in Distance Education Resources).

ProjectSPIDER fosters a Supportive Community of Learners.  Regular gatherings on Thursdays and Fridays allows students to explore ideas together, and supplement their home and community-based learning with a combination of teacher, local expert, and peer-led sessions.  Online blogs help maintain connection among learners, their families and the teachers.  Courses offered include:  English, Socials, Science, Math, Art, PE and varied electives.
